Temp. Part-Time: 3 days per week
This position will assist the office of Art Collections & Exhibitions in all aspects of exhibition and permanent collections programming. Exhibition responsibilities include: promotion of events (press calendar listings (30+), email blasts, external mailings); event scheduling and catering; art work shipping and loan forms; gallery billing and invoicing;mailing list updates and maintenance; receptions and special events candid photography, editing, social media posts, and supply ordering. Permanent Collection responsibilities include: wrapping and transporting artwork on campus and to off site storage; conservation arrangements and scheduling; billing and invoicing; handling inquiries and providing assistance to the community, staff, and faculty. The position is 3 days per week for 1 year (July 1, 2017- June 30, 2018).
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree and previous art gallery or art collection experience is required. Candidates should have an understanding of industry standards, exhibition production, an interest in the visual arts, and awareness of a liberal arts college community and nuances. Candidates must also have experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Mac platforms, an ability to multitask in a fast paced office, and strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and computerski1ls. Photoshop experience is highly desirable. Must be safety conscious, able to work with a diverse group of individuals, and available to work during evening gallery events 6-8 times per calendar year.
20 hours/week, 51 weeks/year
$13.00 an hour
