The registration deadline for “Don’t Raid the Cookie Jar: Creating Early Interventions to Prevent Deaccession Crises,” a convening taking place December 14–15 in Cambridge, MA, is quickly approaching!
This American Alliance of Museums thought-leadership program is being organized in collaboration with the American Association for State and Local History, Association of Art Museum Directors, Association of Academic Museums and Galleries, and New England Museum Association, and hosted by Harvard Museums of Science & Culture.
Participants will work alongside thought leaders to create practical interventions for reducing the instances of museums selling collections to meet financial needs, and we’re excited to have Dr. Nien-hê Hsieh, Associate Professor at Harvard Business School (HBS), kick off the convening. Dr. Hsieh will use a case study from HBS to guide the discussion on how the field can help museums avoid selling collections as a way to address financial needs. Learn more about Dr. Hsieh and register for this event before the December 1 deadline.
