The University of Mississippi Museum – – http://museum.olemiss.edu/ – – located on the state’s flagship university campus in Oxford, seeks a Museum Preparator. This position manages exhibit casework construction and fabrication; installation and hanging of exhibitions; packing and crating; and functioning as the Museum’s building manager. Familiarity and professional experience with a wide range of power and hand tools is required, in oversight of the Museum carpentry workshop.
The position ensures the physical integrity of loaned and permanent collection artifacts by utilizing knowledge of proper handling, installation, packing, and transport best practices. The position is Full-Time with University Benefits package, and Salary identfied within the online posting.
