Detailed Job Description
Note: This is a part-time position: 25 hours per week/MondayFriday

Under general supervision, assists in managing the Dyer Arts Center’s permanent collection of more than 1,000 artworks.  Maintains and updates the Dyer Arts Center’s art database.  Assists and documents loans, condition reports, inventory, and artist’s folders.  Prepares storage room for incoming new and donated artworks. Reports to Director of the Dyer Arts Center.

Required Skills:

  •     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  •     Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments
  •     Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  •     General knowledge of American Sign Language

Required Minimum Qualifications

Experience:

  •     At least one year of experience with museum collections
  •     At least one year of experience in complex filing and research systems

Required Skills:

  •     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  •     Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments
  •     Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  •     General knowledge of American Sign Language

Required Minimum Education Level

  • Bachelors or Equivalent Experience

Preferred Qualifications

  •     At least six months experience with PastPerfect software
  •     Working knowledge of Art History and Deaf Studies
