Dear AAMG members and friends,
As our school year heads into the home stretch, thoughts turn to our annual conference (what else!). Like you, I look forward to seeing my colleagues across the country and beyond. This is the one time of year when those of us serving the academy (and more) come together to share all we’re doing and learn from others in our field. This year, as AAMG drafts a code of best practices for the academic museum/gallery field, we need your involvement more than ever.
If you’ve already registered for our conference, thank you! We can’t wait to see you in D.C.! If you haven’t registered—perhaps you’ve never come to a conference or, dare I say it, you aren’t even an AAMG member – now is the time to remedy that and get serious about your professional development. Membership is critical to strengthen AAMG’s role representing you! Here’s the conference registration link, and you can join or renew your membership here. We’re beginning a new strategic planning process, and our members will be surveyed this fall and offered opportunities to participate in even more meaningful ways. We’ll be looking at our dues structure, too, so there’s never been a better time to join, as we anticipate our membership dues will increase during the coming year.
If you’ve already registered for the conference, did you also reserve a place on our bus to and from the Katzen Center? If not, please contact our membership coordinator, Katie Kizer:membership@aamg-us.org
And if you’re a student who wants to come to the conference, why not apply for a Kress scholarship here.
My AAMG board members join me in wishing you the best. We look forward to seeing you on May 24th!
Best wishes,
Jill Hartz
President, AAMG
