Overview
The Staff Assistant III provides clerical and other support duties to the Museum director and staff. This role also supervises the museum’s admission desk and gift shop.
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for tracking the financial aspects of the museum’s operation, including depositing funds, reconciling transactions, and placing orders for equipment and materials. They also supervise the clerks at the front desk, including making a schedule, enforcing code of conduct and covering absences when necessary. Other giftshop duties include ordering and tracking stock along with overall responsibility for the POS system. Other duties include answering queries about the museum via phone and email, booking tours and classroom rentals, making travel arrangements for staff, minute taking at meetings, coordinating event logistics at the museum, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Four years of experience; or an associate degree/technical training plus two years of experience; or a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Experience working in an office setting with a diverse set of duties including financial tracking, familiarity with basic computer programs, experience identifying new vendors for targeted merchandise
- Excellent customer service
