Dear AAMG Members and Colleagues;
It’s been an exciting year for all of us and we are energized about all the great work academic museums and galleries are accomplishing this year! We want to see you at the upcoming AAMG Annual Conference June 27-30, 2019. So if you have not done so please renew your membership and register for the upcoming conference!
AAMG’s Annual Conference will be held at the Graduate Hotel Minneapolis, University of Minnesota. Hosted in partnership with the Bell Museum, Goldstein Museum of Design, and the Weisman Art Museum, this year’s theme is centered around: Learning Laboratory and Community Center: Positioning the Academic Museum for Success
Conference panels, workshops, keynotes,and dinners will invite you to reflect upon our relevance to parent institutions and local communities. Can we effectively bridge increasingly polarized values and priorities among our broad constituencies and still fulfill our mission and core values? How do we mentor students in the digital age? And what can we do to transform our institutions to reflect shifting demographics, financial challenges, and new learning methodologies?
If you’re not yet a member of AAMG, please join! We can only do as much as our resources allow – and you make that difference.
And thank you for all you do to make academic museums so vital on and off campus!
All the Best,
John Versluis,
President of the Association of Academic Museums & Galleries
