Tom Shapiro founded Cultural Strategy Partners (CuSP) in 2007 to leverage his 20years of corporate leadership and to pursue his deep commitment to the positive impact cultural participation has on communities. CuSP helps museums and cultural organizations succeed by providing tools for improved decisionmaking: strategic planning; earned revenue and membership strategies; and success metrics. Shapiro built his career on parallel tracks of forprofit corporate leadership and consumer marketing, and nonprofit arts strategic planning, marketing, and board leadership. Among recent clients, he has worked with the museums at Wellesley College, Kenyon College, RISD, Colorado State University, and the New England Small College Art Museum Association. Strategic planning projects with noncampus museums include the ICA Miami and Phoenix Art Museum. Through the University of Chicago Cultural Policy Center he coauthored “Campus Art Museums in the 21st Century.” Shapiro is on the board of the Association of Academic Museums and Galleries and Marwen Foundation. He earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business and a BA from Stanford University.
